220 miles

through the

heart of England

Riding 220 miles through the heart of England in one of the most demanding and rewarding events of the year, raising money for Ambitious about Autism along the way.

Now in its fourth year, the Manchester to London challenge will be taking place on Sunday 3rd September 2017. Up to 300 riders will set off from the Manchester Velodrome at dawn, riding down the spine of the country through the Peak District, Midlands and the Chilterns before finishing at Ambitious about Autism’s TreeHouse school. Over the past three years the ride has raised over £770,000 in support of the charity. This year, we will be a part of the team to help reach a million.

Ambitious about Autism is the national charity for children and young people with autism. They provide services, raise awareness and understanding, and campaign for change.

Ambitious about Autism was founded as TreeHouse in 1997. It was founded as a specialist school for children with autism, with five pupils and based in a borrowed room in the Royal Free Hospital in North London. Since then, Ambitious about Autism has been growing and developing into the national charity that it is today, which provides services, raises awareness and influences policy.

Karl Paling.

Once again the instigator who decided this would be a good idea (fool).

Karl runs a design agency (Stimulating Minds) and took up cycling in 2013 to raise money for Marie Curie. His legs haven't stopped spinning and he's still raising money for good causes.

Mark Richardson.

Mark rubber stamped the idea of doing this ride.

Mark is a Director at BB&J Commercial and is the father figure within the team. He has more years and more beers under his belt but this certainly doesn't slow him down.

Mark Sheldrick.

Mark was looking for a challenge when Karl suggested this ride, he didn't hesitate to sign up. Mark (The Allestree Wobbler) is Director at Mark Douglas Industrial Supplies and is without a doubt the most determined member of the team.

James Kingswood.

James has been toying with the idea of joining us on this event for months but was finally drunk enough to enter on a recent Saturday night out.

James is a Wealth Management Consultant with St James Place Wealth Management.

He crams in the cycling and has been on more training camps than he's had holidays.
